David Seizer joined The Bay Foundation in May of 2025 as a field technician with both the Coastal Adaptation and Ocean Resilience Programs. He focuses on kelp restoration, sand dune restoration, and abalone recovery. Born and raised in Santa Monica, David is proud to be restoring the same coastal ecosystems he grew up exploring. He earned his B.A. in Environmental Studies from the University of California, Santa Barbara, where he assisted with long-term ecological research and scientific diving operation – exploring how interactions between understory algae and benthic invertebrates shape coastal reef ecosystems.
Before joining TBF, David also spent time in Costa Rica contributing to sea turtle conservation efforts by monitoring nesting activity. When he’s not on the field, you can usually find him at the beach, biking along the coast, or getting in a round of golf.
