Delores Chan joined TBF in 2024 as the Environmental Engagement Program Project Manager and primarily focuses on its clean boating initiative. She has a B.A. in political science from California State University, Northridge, and a master’s in environmental science and management with a focus in conservation planning from the Bren School at the University of California, Santa Barbara. For her master’s group thesis, she engaged with ranching communities in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem to improve human-wildlife co-existence across large working landscapes. Delores has worked with the California Native Plant Society to support state-level advocacy and national monuments campaigns. She also has experience in program organization, monitoring, and evaluation through her internship with the National Geographic Society. During her time as a wildlife technician, Delores aided in rehabilitating urban wildlife in LA County and connected with the public on how to care for nature and wildlife in urban spaces. Delores is motivated and passionate about community engagement and environmental stewardship. When Delores is not working, she enjoys hiking, camping, and playing tennis.
