Mason Joined The Bay Foundation in October 2022 as a Marine Projects Coordinator. He received his B.S. in Marine Biology from the University of California, Santa Cruz, in 2017. After graduating he began working on research diving projects with UCSC in kelp forests and estuaries from Elkhorn Slough to Sitka, Alaska, until moving on to graduate school at CSU Fullerton with a SeaGrant Fellowship. His Masters’ research focused on eelgrass and oyster relationships in a restoration setting within Upper Newport Bay. Following graduate school and before TBF, he worked as a field technician for the Vantuna Research Group.
